China and India Lead Globe in New Wireless Subscribers


I've been following Pocket.Net on Twitter for a couple of weeks now because they are pretty quick to scrape up the latest comings n' goings in the wireless world.

Today they referenced a Yahoo! article about China and India leading the globe in new wireless subscribers. No surprise there, but the numbers did make my eyebrows raise just a smidge: between them, they signed up almost 200 million new subscribers in 1Q 2007.

It really blows me away when I realize that, combined, Verizon - AT&T - Sprint-Nextel and T-Mobile have about 200 million subscribers in the U.S.

Now, just think about the wireless jobs that are connected to the carriers in China and India!
