Sony has partnered with T-Mobile to slip ExpressCard technology into the notebooks and offer up to 3.6Mbps mobile internet connections.
The ExpressCards trump the old-style PC Card approach by using less power and giving laptops a longer battery life.
The devices connect using HSDPA where coverage is available, switching to UTMS or GRPS where it isn’t.
Sony has rolled the cards out in the UK, Germany and Austria.
