10 Hot Cities - the next Job Boom

The May edition of Business 2.0 is teeming with good info every recruiter (and job seeker!) needs to know. I'm going to post more about their "Next Job Boom" article, but thought I'd start with the 10 Hot Cities they say will lead the job growth from now through 2015:

  1. Las Vegas (job growth is the safest bet in town)
  2. Orlando (health care and leisure for aging boomers)
  3. Riverside (huge distribution hub for the flood of Chinese imports)
  4. Austin (Tech's rebound means IT hiring is back)
  5. Phoenix (projected to need 2,000 CEO's in the next decade)
  6. Jacksonville (computer systems analysts and medical assistants are on the rise)
  7. Tampa (buoyed defense hiring at the home of the U.S. Central Command)
  8. Dallas/Fort Worth (Construction, real estate, and finance continue to lead the way)
  9. Charlotte (booming financial services sector drives growth)
  10. Atlanta (Banking and software startups boost demand for programmers)

This is good news for those in the workforce who, as B2.0 puts it, are "delivering their take-this-job-and-shove-it speeches and bailing out for more rewarding , less spirit-crushing work."
