5 Questions for Amanda Papp (T-Mobile Talent Scout)

In December 2004, I created Recruiter’s Dumping Ground and jumped in to the world of blogging. Inspired by the greatness of Recruiting.com and ERE Blog Network, I allowed my passion for recruiting to take me in to the weird, wild, world of weblogs…and it’s been a blast!

However, my solo run has finally come to an end. Nope, I’m not going anywhere….just getting some help! A few of my T-Mobile colleagues have agreed to join the fun, therefore, as of today, this blog is officially renamed:

”The Blog formerly known as Recruiter’s Dumping Ground”
(just kidding, Prince fans).

Actually, our blog’s make-over is a reflection of our new name: t-blog … the world of wireless careers @ t-mobile. And our team of bloggers will be known as…t-bloggers!

So, without further adieu, please join me in welcoming…Amanda Papp!

Amanda is a Talent Scout for T-Mobile’s Technical Recruiting team, and a recent recipient of T-Mo’s “You Rock” Award. Since she’s the first to sign up for the blogging gig, we’re initiating her with the standard 5 question scenario.

Welcome Amanda!

1. Talk about the most important thing you learned this year.

One thing that I have learned after taking on the role of a Talent Scout is how important it is to be organized. Being able to stay organized makes my professional life as well as my personal life much more stress-free.

2. What is a motto you try to live by?

Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goal.”- Henry Ford. In other words, do not be afraid if things do not go the way as planned. Stay focused on achieving the goal you have set for yourself.

3. What do you like most about yourself?

I like that I constantly have the desire and motivation to learn something new everyday. Whether it’s from a co-worker or even my two children, there is always something to learn if you are open to it.

4. What do you like about what you do?

I like that I get to interact with different people from all over the world on a daily basis. I’ve interviewed candidate’s that lived in Turkey all the way to Ecuador. I also like that I have an impact on possibly changing someone’s life for the better. I get especially energized when I know that I contributed in successfully placing a candidate with our awesome company.

5. Name three adjectives that best describe you:

I am energetic, I have a positive attitude, and I’m very goal-oriented.

We are very lucky to have Amanda as an official member of the t-Bloggers!
