Twitter is a Case Study in How NOT to Lay People Off

We thought we'd never forget 2020. Then came 2022 and the layoffs. Then came 2023 and the massive layoffs. 

I don't think there's ever been a point in my career where I've had so many friends unemployed. It is mind-boggling. It wasn't too long ago when recruiter's were getting giant offers and there were fewer recruiters than there were great opportunities. Welcome to 2023. 

We're only 31 days in to this new year, and I don't think there's much more that could happen in the next 11 months that would surprise me. 

Speaking of surprises...THIS is not the way to lay off your workforce. 

Hopefully there will be case studies in grad schools across the globe that point to this point in time and say, "We can do better."
