Liz Wolgemuth (U.S News) updates the annual list of 30 Best Careers for 2009 (in a rapidly changing economy).

Here's the top 5:

1) Audiologist
2) Biomedical Equipment Technician
3) Clergy
4) Curriculum/Training Specialist
5) Engineer (whoop! whoop!)

Dennis - that's an interesting list and the comments from readers drew me in too.

I clicked through on the curriculum/training developer position (a previous role of mine) and read of a rather idyllic position in the education field - looked like a 9 to 3 gig :-)

Again the readers comments are helpful - yes, some of these (especially corp ASTD) positions are being outsourced to India but then there are also look to be opportunities for freelancers to compete on niche quality and experience.

Since it's a US-based site a common theme seems to be President-Elect Obama's infrastructure plans. Government jobs and resourceful / green private enterprise are the hits for 2009?
