Beauty and the Beast (by the RaisingFive Family Dance Troupe)

This isn't our normal hi-tech post, (although I've never claimed to be normal), but seeing how it's the last day of the year (as well as my 11 year old's birthday), I thought I'd give you a peek in to the secret lives of the Smith family...my family.

We had a different twist this Christmas to the family get-together at my in-law's house.

Each family was forewarned: "Be prepared to do a skit - sing a song - anything to make us laugh."

Well, we're certainly not short on crazy at my house, seeing how we're in the process of raising five brilliant and beautiful children. So, led by our fearless 15 year old daughter, the "RaisingFive Dance Troupe," put together a quick dance-skit sure to miss the attention of the folks at American Idol.

If you'd like a 2-minute glimpse in to the wild and wacky life we live in Texas, check out this video from last weekend where we performed center-stage on my in-law's front porch (no stage is too grand for us). Yes, that's "Beauty and the Beast" playing faintly in the background.

Be sure to watch for the moment where our 5 year old gets kicked in the side of the head by our 15 year old.

This is life...in Texas...in the Smith family.

And it doesn't get any better than this.

I have to admit, that is really funny. They are my type of people.
