The Kansas City Star provides some insight in to the incredible numbers that make up this thing we call a "wireless community:"
U.S. consumers are expected to spend more than $120 billion on cell phone service this year, up at least 15 percent from the $102 billion spent in 2004, according to figures from CTIA, the wireless industry’s trade association.
About 218.7 million cell phones currently are in service in the U.S. The current population is 295.7 million, a number that includes more than 39 million children ages 10 and under.
So there we have it - almost as many cell phones in service as we have people in the U.S. population? Incredible. Thought about pursuing a new career in this crazy industry?
