Passive Job Seekers: Blogs are "What's Cool"

Joel is blogging from the FCnow BlogJam and has a great post today which he titles: Blogs, The Other Job Board.

Although not the point of Joel's post, I believe his comments on job seekers and blogs further emphasizes the viability of job-seekers jumping on the blogging bandwagon.

For example, if I were an RF Engineer semi-interested in a job search and new to the world of blogs, I'd take this opportunity to jump in with all fours and become an active member of the community that is blogging about:

Job Search
Wireless Jobs
Wireless Carriers
Associations within my industry, like IEEE and even CTIA
Engineering Blogs
Wireless Blogs
and, last, but certainly not least.....jobs.
Will one be better informed/educated about the wireless job market? Better connected with those involved in recruiting within the wireless sector? Perhaps. But don't take my word for it - I'm just a simple-minded blogging recruiter who bought in to this schtick a long time ago.

And, I was gullible enough to heed the words of the Blogging Yoda:

"Remember, a Blogger's strength flows from the Force. But beware. Anger,
fear, aggression. The dark side are they. Once you start blogging, forever
will it dominate your destiny. Job-Seeker... Job-Seeker... do not... do not underestimate the powers of the Blogosphere or suffer your father's fate you will."

Blogging. Change you it will.
