Director of Strategic Supplier Operations
St. Jude Medical - Neuromodulation (NMD)
Plano, Texas

This key leadership role will add dedicated technical muscle and operational know how to NMD’s cross functional supplier management team. Initially, it will be an individual contributor position reporting to NMD’s VP of Operations. Role is accountable for driving targeted operational excellence at select critical suppliers in a way that directly and measurably benefits NMD. He/she will be positioned with these suppliers as their primary, and most senior, business, technical, operations liaison. This skilled individual will be required to quickly and thoroughly assess production plant effectiveness, operating systems, cultures, management and key personnel to determine areas for focused improvement.
To succeed, this expert must have plant management experience, strong business acumen, and proven technical depth. The right candidate will demonstrate strong executive presence and the ability to engage effectively on the factory floor in several process technology environments. Above all, this leader must have the skill to cut through hype and posturing to get to the heart of operational issues when visiting suppliers.

Equally important are communications and collaborative leadership internal to NMD. Position will act as liaison and cross-functional leader within NMD, as needed, to ensure suppliers have what’s needed from NMD to improve their performance on their own initiative. Regular interaction with NMD manufacturing sites, Supplier Quality, supply chain management, and Research and Development will be required. Position will have high visibility cross-functionally and at the highest levels of NMD leadership.
